UD (Uni-Directional) laminated fabrics with UHMWPE fibers (Ultra-High-Modified-Weight-Polyethylene.
These fabrics made in UHMWPE are extremely light, lighter than water <0.99 g / cm2, and incredibly resistant to impact absorption (energy). Among its performance list, it can be said that UD UHMWPE laminated fabrics are 15X more resistant than steel and 40% more resistant than polyamides.
When used as internal lining of Anti-Stab vests they can withstand an intense blow between 15J to 24J, without any injury to the user.
In the segment of garments with blade cut resistance the UHMWPE is mixed with other performance fibers which result in high-resistance knits in compliance with the EN 388 Level E or ASTM F-2992 Cut Lever A5 standards.
