The ClimaKnit™ 3-L fabric is laminated through the eco-friendly CLP process (clean lamination process) with PUR adhesive, onto a 100% PU breathable 10K/10K super stretchable membrane.
The traditional method of making waterproof shoes is to insert a 100%-stitches-sealed-up “bootie” inside: the picture on the left side. The criticism is that through the mechanical flexing of the uppers, the leather fibres would open and the water would penetrate into the interior, and it would be spot between the leather split side and the WP bootie, bringing extra weight to the footwear and much longer time to evaporate it.
The innovation of ClimaKnit™ Waterproof knit + Foamless bootie™ is that you have 100% guarantee integrated protection against water penetration into the interior of the footwear because there is a 10K membrane laminate behind the ClimaKnit™ upper + the second protection offered by the Foamless bootie: 5K membrane with NO foam lamination, just PUR adhesive with breathable CLP lamination.
Vortex 4D – Waterproof Boots
The ultimate innovation in the tactical boots niche is the Vortex 4D boot developed by PCA Consulting along with its Asian partner manufacturer/designer partners. Its a mono-block one-full-piece Climaknit™ WP 3Layer Upper + Foamless WP Bootie + TPU film reinforcement. Ergonomic and adjustable rotary fasteners EZ Lock, with genuine steel wire coated PU.
The upper fabric is recycled PET made in the flat knitted process with double yarns, optimising the tear resistance and delivering even more breathability to the upper.Top innovation and functional is featured on the 3D printing midsole, made with PU and the rubber skin outsole.
