The new anti-cut protective clothing for Chainsaws has a compact version for the legs called "Chaps" that represents almost 40% of the incidents that occurred.
Major brands use multi-layers of anti-cut knit that when it comes into contact with the chainsaw´s chain, it is pulled into the machnism and immediately blocks the movement of the blade.
There are different levels of performance and cut resistance that varies according to the chain speed:
Level 1- 20m / s
Level 2- 24m / s
Level 3- 28m / s
Most protective clothes are tested and certified in the European standard EN 338 or in the exclusive version for the leg protectors "Chaps", under the test method F1414 according to the American standard ASTM F1897.
